SocotraEiland was created out of both passion and roots. My name is Faris, and I was born in Yemen and moved to the Netherlands more than 12 years ago. Living in Europe, I’ve always carried with me the beauty and uniqueness of my home country and especially the island of Socotra, which remains one of the world’s last untouched paradises.
For years, I dreamed of showing the world what Socotra truly is: not just a place of breathtaking dragon’s blood trees and pristine beaches, but also a land of warm people, rich traditions, and deep history.
By founding SocotraEiland.nl, I bring together my Yemeni heritage and my Dutch experience. From the Netherlands, I make Socotra accessible to European travelers in a way that is safe, reliable, and respectful. With trusted local guides and carefully arranged logistics and genuine local hospitality.
