Booking Conditions

Please do not book your international flights until your Socotra flight ticket is issued.

In line with Dutch and EU law, all payments will be confirmed with a written invoice and proof of payment.

14-day cooling-off period after booking: full refund minus non-recoverable costs (visa or flight fees).

If we (SocotraEiland.nl) must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., political instability, flight cancellations, natural disasters), you will be entitled to a full refund or rebooking option, in accordance with EU Package Travel Directive.

You must inform us in advance if you have any medical conditions, so we can take necessary precautions before your trip.

We do not cover any medical costs; please ensure you have valid travel and medical insurance that covers treatment abroad, evacuation, and repatriation.

Once in Socotra, changes to the tour package (e.g., type of accommodation, tour route, meal locations) are not permitted, except in private tours, which allow reasonable flexibility.

SocotraEiland.nl reserves the right to modify the itinerary if necessary due to weather, safety, or political conditions.

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. We are not liable for loss or damage to personal property.

Guests are 100% liable for damages to our property or equipment caused by them.

However, your safety is our priority, and we are responsible for providing safe travel arrangements.

In compliance with Dutch/EU law, SocotraEiland.nl holds liability insurance for package travel services.

Socotra is a conservative community. Sexual harassment of any kind (verbal, physical, or photographic) is strictly forbidden and subject to legal action.

Taking pictures of local women without their consent is prohibited. Always ask your guide if unsure.

Exporting seeds, plants, animals, reptiles, or insects from Socotra is illegal and considered smuggling.

Please follow all local laws and respect the island’s fragile ecosystem.

In case of accident, illness, or death, any related costs (hospital treatment, evacuation, repatriation) are the responsibility of the traveler or their next of kin.

Valid travel insurance is mandatory for all travelers.

SocotraEiland.nl may amend these booking conditions at any time. Any changes will comply with Dutch and EU consumer protection law, and customers will be informed in writing.
